The TTK Saga Continues

Life's surely a joke at TTK. After a month of spitting fire at TTK and receiving nothing but utter disdain, my only hopes to restore normalcy in my life was to personally visit the hallowed HO. Prior to the visit, I had barked so hard and so long over the phone at the folks from TTK, the window panes in my house rattled! I can't even begin to describe how my queries were answered. A bunny would have responded better. The auto ride was long and bumpy. The driver and I spoke languages that had nothing in common. The fare was Rs.125, which turned out not to be that fair after all. My appointment was between 2 & 3 in the afternoon, and in keeping with my tradition, reached before time. Killed the buffer time taking lunch at a Kerala restaurant. The rendezvous at the HO was like a sword meeting the shield. To put it tamely, I was ready to grant someone frequent flier miles to Hell. Someone calling himself "Mr.Arun" [sic] had to bear my brunt, and he bore it well....

Happy Birthday, Dad!

A very offbeat day. People kept calling, people kept coming, the martinet kept complaining that I was busy socializing (a first in life!), I mutilated a piece of Java code to the point of no return, was informed that a cousin became a proud mother on the 18th, wished Anand's sister on her marriage anniversary and marked an anniversary of parting ways with someone. Best of all, today was Dad's birthday. Miss you, Dad!

Sangeeta Snoops

After Suchetana, it's Sangeeta's turn now to exploit the social networking phenomenon to catch up with me. I was tinkering with Mantu's laptop yesterday (it went online after a long struggle) when Yahoo! Mail alerted me of Orkut scraps by one Sangeeta. Sangeeta? Some names should be banned and Sangeeta should certainly be one of them. One in every three Indian girls is burdened with this name. It's almost a common noun by now. Anyway, the great gift of photography came to my rescue as I recognized my cousin from her profile photo. We scrapped late night (or was it the wee hours) to exchange pleasantries and grab each other's chat ids before going offline. Inclusion into the contact list was approved today morning and the consequential nonsensical chatting occurred in the afternoon and evening. I hope her comic cyber presence helps kill the boredom that hits me ever-so-often nowadays.
This is how many of our arguments would end when we were kids. Didi : You are mad! I: Every great man is mad! Didi : But every mad man isn't great!

Sonia

Get Your Own! | View Slideshow So social networking does it again! Sonia & I had been out of touch for quite some time before losing contact altogether. Thanks to Orkut, she was able to trace me to my blog and finally to my Yahoo! Messenger id. It was wonderful chatting with her after so long a while & we still have a lot of catching up to do. I truly miss my most adorable and ambitious cousin! Sonia, how are you adjusting to life in India?!
